Labor Day (May Day) To Be Celebrated On May 7th This Year

The Development, Competitiveness, Infrastructure, Transport and Networks Ministry decided to transfer the Labor Day holiday on May 1, which this year falls in the last week of Lent, to the Tuesday after Easter. The proposal was made by the National Confederation of Hellenic Commerce, so that shops might remain open on the Wednesday before Easter in a bid to boost sales ahead of the holiday, moving the holiday when shops remain closed to May 7.
