SPECIAL REPORT - US Supports Turkey In Energy Game, Greek-Cyprus-Israeli Agreement Not Signed

It seems that the traitors did their job well, they crucified our country and sold us out as planned. Things do not really look good for Greece in regards to oil exploration and the search for hydrocarbons. US Foreign Ministry for energy issues in Eurasia ambassador Richard Morningstar sent a clear message today to all the countries in the Eastern Mediterranean "to settle their differences" so that they can play a role in the emerging energy map of the area. The message was clearly sent to Cyprus, Greece, Turkey and Israel. and he noted  that these countries need to put aside their "political and legal issues" so as not to deprive citizens of important benefits which could be obtained as a result of these new energy discoveries. The masks are finally off dear friends, Morningstar openly rallied in favor of Turkey, placing Ankara in the energy game at the expense of Greece, Cyprus and Israel. while at the same time showing the US's true stance on the Cyprus issue.

A report on defencenet said that the arrival of Richard Morningstar and the positions advocated by the Greek-Turkish rapprochement and general energy issues are not in favor of Greek interests. Addressing an energy conference hosted by the Economist on the exploration and exploitation of the Eastern Mediterranean hydrocarbons and pipelines, Morningstar  "put" Turkey 100% in-game. This includes exploration and exploitation rights in the EEZ of Cyprus and Greece.

This is probably why the agreement between Greece, Cyprus and Israel was not signed!

The only thing that Mr. Morningstar cared about passionately is the reduction of energy dependency from Russia.

He indirectly called on all nations in the area, especially Cyprus, to prevent the creation of "projects" that favor Russian interests, because he said these go against basic principles of European policy to diversify sources, which is endorsed by the US.

On the subject of pipelines, and the energy needs in the Balkan region, Morningstar said that the transportation of non-Russian natural gas to the Balkans must become commercially viable and provide further opportunities in the future.

Morningstar then claimed that recent discoveries of natural gas in the EEZ of Cyprus and Israel should be viewed as a positive development because it will provide new volumes of energy and alternative gas supplies for neighboring countries and Europe.

But here is where the all the juice of our story is today...  Morningstar said that "everyone" has to benefit from these discoveries. In fact the US ambassador said very clearly that the US recognizes the right of Cyprus to carry out research and production of hydrocarbons, but the resources that will result from this venture must also benefit Turkish Cypriots.

The masks are finally off!

Morningstar basically rallied in favor of Turkey by saying this because he is vindicating the positions of Turkey and Turkish Cypriots on the Cyprus issue.

And what is more he also underlined that the issue of natural gas and new energy resources in the Eastern Mediterranean are above and beyond the power of the countries which are directly involved (Cyprus, Israel and Greece). Essentially, what he meant -or rather the message that he was trying to get across- was that the three countries have a very valuable and significant commidity that is needed by the global community, and therefore cannot be managed by themselves!

He stated there are legal and political issues that still must be resolved in the region, and underlined that it would be a shame if these countries were deprived of the benefits of these discoveries.

The message was very clear. Morningstar was sending a warning in every direction on the possibility of losing these energy resources on account of friction, but he was also letting it be known that the US will be monitoring the developments (or be on "top" of things) when this geopolitical game begins to unfold in the region.

According to Richard Morningstar the solutions "that will be selected" for the exploitation of energy sources in the Eastern Mediterranean, will be beneficial for all the countries of the region. This last statement is basically letting us know that the US is essentially putting Turkey into the game through the back door. This is what Turkey was waiting to hear from the US/ Morningstar indirectly reaffirmed what we all knew, that Americans recognize and support Turkish claims in the region.

Now the Eastern Mediterranean.might turn into a new and ugly Greek-Turkish conflict zone with the tacit encouragement or assent to Turkey's wrongdoing from none other than our alley the US.

By accepting that Turkey has interests in the region, the US is now depriving the EU of control of these energy resources through Greece. Essentially, what the Americans did was place Turkey to act as a policeman under what perhaps is the most important energy reserves in all of Europe.

These statements are clear, and confirm what defencenet said in a report a couple of days ago about this US officials' stance on Greek-Turkish relations. Judging by what we read... they are definitely not in favor of our country.

In fact, that particular article had proved that Morningstar openly supports the elimination of any historical disputes between the two countries (Greece and Turkey), the subjects of Cyprus and the Aegean, as well as other key issues, with a series of Greek concessions that will alter the map in the Aegean, and E. Mediterranean in favor of the "policeman".

Editor's Note - Our opinion on this news... this is a sad day for our country. All we can say is that Mr. Papandreou, and his cronies did their job well... the Aegean is going to now be divided.
